Ooooh yeah I saw that. Please dont post spoilers here!!!???

Dumbledore's fate was ruined for me a couple weeks before the book came out. One of my friends took a photo of the page on which everythign happens, and circled the parts in red. Asshat.

I just need to stay away from teh intarwebs until tomorrow, when I get the book at midnight. And then of course I'll stay up all night reading the thing through and most likely I will need a sandwich after that because I bet it's going to be exhausting.

I'll be out of town starting tomorrow and hopefully I'll be able to get the book where I'm at in the middle of nowhere.

Where are you going? I think Harry Potter is universal, you'll be okay.

I've seen all of the HP movies and read none of the books. I plan to wait until I've seen all the movies before reading.

Not to sound like a pretentious ass, but the books are way better then the movies.

The movies give the story a realistic edge...but the heart and soul of these tails is in the books.

I agree. You lose a lot in translation. They cut out a vast amount of the books in order to make them only 2 and a half hours long.

Yeah, I may eventually read the books. I like to see the movies first, then read the books (generally). It helps me visulize the book better and then when I read the new parts, it's like seeing the GOOD deleted scenes of the movie. :)

Yeah, but if you haven't read the books, you don't miss what you lose.

The "books are better that movies" attitude really irks me. People are always telling me how disappointed they are that some movie "ruined" whatever universe it was portraying because it didn't live up to their personal expectations for that universe. Bullshit, I say. I walk into a movie with no expectations and have a fantastic time. Later, if I have the time and inclination, I'll pick up the book and have a great time as well with all the extra details. It's a win-win situation.

I have so many friends who just can't seem to enjoy themselves at the movies because they're always nitpicking about this and that. You know what, it's a movie, it's for your entertainment, so be entertained! If you can't do that then I don't know why you keep wasting $8.75 and 3 hours of your life every few weeks.

Now, OK... before I get anyone pissed. :) This wasn't necessarily directed at Heathrrye, Cloudy, or anyone else (what a pretentious ass! j/k :P). It's also an exaggeration of my viewpoint, for effect. I think it's fine for people to like books better than movies, and agree that movies can't possibly include every little detail in 90 to 150 minutes (or more). I don't, however, feel that movies are any less worthy of my personal enjoyment because of that shortcoming.
