Borderlands 1 or 2, Niji?

I bought 1 on Steam, but haven't tried playing it yet.

The first game; I saw (briefly) the second played here at work, and it seemed like a similar experience, only far more polished. I'm sure I'll grab that one in the (far) future.

This game is ... it's tough to describe. It can be a lot of fun, or it can be completely mindless. It really depends on the quest, and the area the quest takes place. But because of its simple mechanics, but the deep effect those mechanics have on moment to moment gameplay, it has that addictive "Just one more quest ... just one more quest" feeling that you get from so many RPGs.

I think this is the best way to describe it. Sometimes it's like "oh this quest needs to end now" and others are extremely fun even though they're more of the same. I've tried playing it alone and it's just not that fun (for me) alone. It's a definite multiplayer game.

I had a blast in SP, although I could see how it would be even awesomer in MP. Most of the time, however, I'm a strict anti social gamer, though.
