I'm just following the tradition of showing people pics of my pc build, so here they are. I built this PC for one reason. FFXIV. My only regret is that I should have bought two 4890's instead of trying to get ready for directx 11 games. It been so long since I built a new PC that I had to actually read the manuals.

By the way, I got the i7 920 to overclock to 4ghz without getting BSOD!

That's the biggest heatsink I've seen installed.

And I would've gone for DX11 over dual GPU's, but since you got both, I don't see the downside (except for the cost).

That really is one beautiful heatsink you've got there, QK. I love the V8 theme. The heatpipes coming out of the block look like exhaust headers coming out of an engine. Perfect.

So I'm somewhere between a GTX 285 single card and and a radeon 5870 single card according to 3dmark vantage, but both of my cards are still cheaper than the ones mentioned.

I had a higher score on the trial version of 3dmark vantage. Then I used a keygen and it unlocked more tests and my score dropped.

I have audio issues now. Sound is dropping in and out for a few seconds when watching MKV, WMV and AVI files. Also flash videos on youtube. I'm using onboard audio Realtek ALC1200. When I get home, I'm going to try to download the latest audio driver and see if that helps. I googled "audio cuts out + Windows 7 64bit" and I'm not the only one it seems.

My audio output is through HDMI to my LCD TV, but i know that has nothing to do with it. I have no audio issues when playing games.

I really wanted everything to be perfect and a glitch like this pisses me off.

Thankfully I haven't had this issue, but Entroper would lose all sound when playing L4D2.

His solution: uninstall his audio driver. He'll have to chime in with more details, but I think that fixed his audio issues.

When I first installed Win 7 I had audio issues with Flash vids not playing as well. I have the onboard RealTek chipset as well as an Audigy 2 ZS. I installed the drivers for the RealTek chipset so I could use that only, but after a reboot there was no RealTek device available, and my SB started working with the RealTek drivers. Very strange.

Originally, my problem was that L4D2 would simply crash if I enabled echo and noise canceling for my microphone in the driver. The mic sounded awful without these things, so I got a new driver. Instead of crashing L4D2, the new driver simply shut off all audio (even if I quit L4D2 it didn't come back) until a reboot. When I uninstalled the new driver, Windows used the default Microsoft audio driver. I thought, why not give that a shot. It works, and my mic sounds fine, so I'm done with Realtek drivers. :D

Wow! Before you saw your score, what were your thoughts when you were watching the benchmark?

Audio Issues: Solved
It didn't take make long to find the answer on google but the solution wasn't what I expected. The real issue was never with the audio driver but the GPU itself since I was using the HDMI output from the Radeon 5770. All audio bypasses the onboard realtek drivers and goes straight to the ATI HDMI Audio Out drivers since I'm using my Samsung as my monitor and audio. The trick was to use ATI Overclock. I had to up the fan speed to 100% in the profiles.xml file. What does that have to do with audio? But, it worked! Hopefully the next driver release will fix the problem without me messing with xml files and having to pay an extra $3 a month in electricity bills.

Stupid idea. Easier to hook it up to a receiver instead of messing around with the HDMI audio output.

Before the test even began I figured my system was pretty decent. I can play all the games I want/own so far, they look great, play well and run smooth.

While the test ran, I thought....wtf?!?! 10fps??? Chopping all over the place...lag.....WTH!?

I'm going to try it again with the dual monitor off and see what comes up.

Maybe a Windows 7 driver update is in order.
